The 3 parts of coaching that make it valuable

4/16/2012

The coaching process typically has three parts to it that make it valuable for coaching clients. They are:
  • Identification - Identify client’s strengths/assets/goals
  • Alignment - Create an action plan that aligns the client’s strengths and assets with a specific goal on a timeline
  • Accountability - Ensure the client completes the steps on their action plan to reach their goal, and work through challenges with the client as they arise along the way.
The list above seems pretty simple, and the list itself is simple – it’s boiled down to the most essential elements.  However, there is a lot of work to be done in each of the three areas once put into practice.

Surely, you can apply these steps on your own, but with a coach helping you along the way you increase your chances of successfully reaching your goal by at least 50% because now you have a partner with whom to work.  Together, you can accomplish more than you could individually alone.
