Pinterest for business [CARTOON]

With discussions surrounding Pinterest and copyright violations, I thought I'd draw up a little cartoon...and share it on Pinterest, too.

Also, here are some best practices if you're worried about copyrights and Pinterest:


Pin your own visual creations:

• use your own photos, drawings or paintings, or images you know you have rights to
  
• Pin your images with low resolution (72 dpi) if you're worried about someone making and selling printed duplicates of your work without your knowledge or permission
  
• put at least a small watermark or credit that you created the image (copyright symbol, year created, name of creator, website of creator) right into the image.  This will then always appear when the image is repinned
  
• If you're worried about your own copyrights being infringed upon by pinning your images and those images being repinned without your permission, add a watermark as suggested or simply don't pin your images
  

Credit image sources and repins:

• If you're going to pin from various websites, try to pin the image from the website that originated the image
  
• in the description of the image credit the source of the image and include a source link
  
• When repinning credit the source of the repin and recredit the source of the image, if it was in the description of the original pin
  
• essentially make whatever effort you can to credit images appropriately and encourage others to do the same
