Recently I had the pleasure of working with Anne Glynn on a logo design for her personal training business. Great Physique Personal Training is Anne’s business name. Anne has been around the health club and fitness industry since 1994. You can read all about Anne and her credentials on her website:greatphysique.net. If you’re looking for some personal training – I would encourage you to check out Anne’s services. On this blog post I simply wanted to share some of the design process that led to the final Great Physique logo design. Anne came to GrowLoop by referral from a good friend Keith Hampton who was helping Anne with her website. Anne and Keith agreed that Great Physique could use a logo identity to help unify the website and provide a visual representation of the Great Physique brand Anne was building with her business. Anne offers personal training for men and women who are simply interested in getting more fit than they currently are, or those who may have some serious competitive fitness training goals, so she wanted a logo design that reflected that, and was inviting. She didn’t want potential clients to be intimidated by hiring a personal trainer. Some words/phrases that were given to me to help guide the direction of the design were: Client-centered, Catered for you, setting goals. Also, I was given some guiding words to help offer direction in terms of what the logo should convey, which were: motion, peace, strength, and personal power. Here are what sketches came as a result of understanding Anne’s vision and brand attributes: From these sketches I was able to come up with the basic concept and design: With a few tweaks here’s the final design: So that was the design process for the Great Physique Personal Training logo. You can't just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them. By the time you get it built, they'll want something new. 5/23/2014 06:02:03 pm
