B2B shops kick their digital marketing in gear in 2012

The Content Marketing Institute (CMI), is a best-practices marketing education and research company.  CMI suggests that in 2012 B2B organizations will continue to invest more in digital content marketing over 2011.

Digital marketing in general is becoming the preferred method of marketing one’s business over more traditional print and paid advertising models because of digital marketing’s effectiveness and low cost relative to traditional tactics.

Among the marketing statistics in the CMI study was a chart displaying the B2B Content Marketing Usage (by tactic), which showed several content marketing tactics and their current percentage of usage by organizations.  Some of it may surprise you or simply confirm what you had been thinking…

Here are the top 5 digital content marketing tactics for the list:
  • Articles
  • Social Media (other than blogs)
  • Blogs
  • eNewsletter
  • Case Studies
The top 5 list of tatics was followed closely by:
  • Videos
  • White papers
  • Webinars/Webcasts
